Nollywood which is the Nigerian movie industry is finally doing something right. Here is a movie they are making about the invasion of the Benin empire by the British. The movie is still in production stages but they released a little clip of what they have produced so far. History from Africans viewpoint.







The second movie is a movie about Yoruba Orisha's. Its called rise of the Orisha's and its a superhero movie involving Yoruba deities.

The Nigerian Movies industry isn't really strapped cash wise, our major problem is lack of skilled producers, animators, cinematographers and designers to make the movies we produce high quality. Most Nigerians aren't going to school to learn movie production sadly.

I might have to take my talents to Nigeria, only barrier for me would be the language and that's not even all that big of a deal because many of them speak decent english.

You see how in the Benin movie you have cats beheading white dudes on screen. You Know Hollywood is never going to show that shyt.

Yep that would be great we need skilled brehs like you. That is why I am all for Black Hollywood and the Nigerian movie industry working together. There could be a lot of skill transfer and it can be mutually beneficial.

You should, our problem has always been that our best minds leave Africa stay out west and use their talents or the skills to enrich western economies instead of coming back and improving our own.

Things are improving though, heres a high budget Naija film thats caught my attention recently:



Apparently it cost 1.2 bill naira to make and 80% of the budget came from black investors. Imagine pouring that type of budget and production into an African action trilogy that details our rich history and mythology, think about how inspirational a movie like that would be for the entire black/African diaspora.
