More black people than you think live in rural, southern communities. I went down south a lot as a youngin. Just telling you about my family, they had land to tend, they wasn't worried about no damn fashion. Of course, they appreciated the drip, but really, they had other concerns. Crackers, land management, etc. Incidentally, my cousins all had hair down their backs, unlike us city folk, flat ironing everyday at the time.

Different priorities, different circumstances. You have to be fly in the city cuz you see so many people every day. Clothes serve a different, proportionally more significant role in cities. In the country, people know you, your family, etc. What you wear doesn't change that. In cities, clothes signal class, culture, etc. They carry more weight.
