You know what?

Sports is supposed to be traditional. Fans love the old stuff. The team logos. It's part of the character and identity. That stuff is handed down.

Sneaker wear and these sports companies do not favor the traditional. They always want the next new thing. It's fashion.

These two are at odds with each other but shouldn't interact when it comes to the actual main pieces of team identity.

Teams need to find what they need to leave alone: jerseys, logos, etc.

Make the shoes, equipment, accessories, etc. modern and sleek. Put the artistry to use here.

Leave the traditional heavy/main stuff intact, accent the satellite pieces with artistry. Design dope towels, gloves, hats, shoes, etc.

It low key sucks when I buy jerseys that I got to have some of the older ones remade with the new players' names. Feels kind of cheap or disconnected so I don't even buy them anymore. They don't even make some of the vintage designs anymore.

That's not at all the mindset. Every year, it's "whats the new collection, design, color scheme" that they can push to the paying audience/fanatics. Plus you have stakeholders in the front office/heads of marketing/retail operations that want to look like they're doing their job/good at their jobs to parlay that onto the next oppurtunity (Teams dont pay shyt unless you're VP, Director, C-suite level)

This dude had a great breakdown of the difference. Nike/Fanatics nasty :scust:

Great video - I only buy authentics (on-field) like dude in the video said once you get your first authentic it’s hard go back to the official replicas. Last I checked Nike increased the price of authentic to $430 smh
