Nike ain't going anywhere brehs...they still have a stronghold over other companies in the sports world (uniforms, team sponsorship, athletic shoes). It's bigger then just "casual" shoes.

Not gonna front tho. I've never worn anything other then Nike when it comes to cleats and other sport shoes.

Went thru hell and high water but couldn't get those.

SBs were always a odd cop. I've dooms, Linoleums and Urich fairly easily. Other stuff not even close
I dropped $350 on em. Honestly in hindsight I treated them more as an investment with the ability to test drive them a bit before cashing out :francis:.

So comfortable though lawd :wow:.

True but adidas has been gaining mad traction and popularity with the boosts and tubulars.

Nike is losing their stronghold on the fashion casual market.
nike sb is dead...the dunk game which heavily influenced the modern day sneaker game is dead.

Nike is barely doing collabs like that anymore...

Asics has been gaining traction due to Ronnie Fieg and Kith
new balance has been gaining popularity

Other brands are produc8ng sneakers
high end fashion brands.

Adidas' 'Yeezy' collaboration with Kanye West has not paid off

February 18, 2016 by Shona Ghosh

Read more at: Adidas' 'Yeezy' collaboration with Kanye West has not paid off

Adidas reportedly paid Kanye West $10m (£7m) to collaborate on the limited-edition 'Yeezy' trainers, but the deal doesn't appear to have paid off.

Analysis of Adidas' results shows that the firm's revenues in the US have been dropping between 2011 and 2015.

In 2011, the firm's US sales stood at €3.1bn, falling to €2.97bn for the full year 2014.

Its performance in 2015 has been more positive on a quarter-by-quarter basis, with first quarter sales coming in at €591m, rising to €643m for the second quarter and again to $776m for the third quarter.

But that recent turnaround isn't down to the Kanye effect, according to NPD analyst Matt Powell.

"When I look at the data, the Adidas growth is not coming from any styles even vaguely associated with West," he told Marketing. "Sales have been negative most of the time since West's signing."

Part of that is due to the line's limited availability.

According to Powell, there have been fewer than 50,000 pairs available to retailers. "We sell more than 300m pairs of sneakers in the US each year, so 50,000 is negligible," he said.

He added: "The sales of the shoe have not offset that [$10m] expense."

Powell points out that any halo effect from West should have kicked in much earlier, and that 2015's improving sales performance is down to Adidas' own hard graft.

"Adidas made many changes and moved more than 100 people from Germany to the US to get the product right," he said. "The entire Adidas US team has worked tirelessly to get the products right. Those changes are the reason for the recent turnaround."

The Kanye collection has generated huge hype, with the Kardashian family, Anna Wintour and Jay-Z all turning up to see the latest sneakers at the Yeezy New York Fashion Week show this month.

But in Powell's view, the Yeezy line's actual sales performance is proof that superstar endorsements rarely pay off, particularly when the brand fit is off.

He says: "In footwear, it all comes down to product. If the product is wrong, the greatest marketing campaign will not matter.

"Adidas’ products were wrong for the US market. I do not believe that so-called "influencers" have a great impact on sales. Product is much more important than who is getting paid to wear shoes."

Still, one person is happy with the collaboration. Kanye West this week tweeted out his appreciation for Adidas for allowing him complete freedom with his "creative process".

Nike ain't ever fallen off bruh....Under Armour is coming for them but even they won't be able to catch them....

UA will eventually be #2 in the market but they'll eventually peak, just like Adidas did.

The market is becoming bigger , but Nike isn't losing any ground .

Under armer has every MVP in major sports....

If they knew how to market thier sneakers better (more Steph and Cam comercials, even together ) they could get serious in the Sneaker game.

They got the Apparel/training game on lock though so :yeshrug:

I keep a fresh pair ^^

OG 95s are 90s underground hip hop fashion like how adidas and Pumas were 80s hip hop fashion

And legacy you tripping Nike will always be king no matter how you try to spin it. They have too many lines , converse just has chucks, adidas has all stars and gazelles , new balance has like 2, but Nike has like 20 lines that are dope

I come from this industry... Trust me adidas is a very distant second. Check the numbers. Shoes like Yeezys and any other limited release run items don't actually generate that much income they are done more for marketing... It be the generic running shoes joggers wear moving in record numbers jut like people need food and toiletries and clothing they buy practical shoes the most. Fashionable items come after. Exclusivity does not create the volume of sales needed to dominate the market. The reason limited and special stuff us done is for the cool factor.

nike sb aren't dead atleast where I'm at I see muh fukkers(most who don't skate) rocking the janoskis all day and then I'm like do tre flip. Then they don't and I know what kinda person they are. Haha. But for real i stopped rocking sb's except if I actually like the skateboarder themselves like Cory kennedy, grant Taylor and I might cop ishod wairs dunk version. I've been digging the shoes with toe caps lately fur skating.
