Adidas got hot because they managed to profit from a coup at nike where a bunch of their designers left for Adidas and worked in shyt they had developed for nike into Adidas line of shoes.

Now that the nike exit stimulus has dried up Adidas has fallen right back behind Nike because as per usual they can't keep up with their rate of innovation.

Adidas tried to ramp up some new designs and fall back on them for some time as well as Kanye's celebrity endorsement. But playing it cool doesn't win in the Sneaker Arena. And their Kanye stimulus has also dried up. His Adidas shyt is flopping since his c00n transformation.

Old nikes aka retros have never been a large share of profit margins or market value but what they do is drive Brand diversity and they are less important now since for the last half a decade what is pushing sneaker culture forward has been new designs/tech not retros.
