Exactly. Tiger was the closest thing we saw to MJ, where people pretty much regardless of race or gender wanted to be like him and look like him (golf clubs, red polo, red sweater, Nike hat, hell even the fist pump after a big putt)

I can't think of any other sport more obsessed with their equipment than golf.

As flashy and and tacky the players may look sometimes with all those logos and brands everywhere. The equipment side of it has always been one of the most traditional parts of the sport. Those blue hairs obsess over their clubs.

Nike would be better off making bowling balls or tennis racquets.

The big PGA Tour players do not play the clubs they say they play.....all are hand made customs that bear no resemblance to clubs any of us can buy.

Tiger played with "Nike" irons but they were Nike only in name.

I'm sure they're custom, but some players mustve handled the Nike clubs or Nike tried to get more players to use their clubs
