Yes. Remote work. Working regular schedule except there’s no commute. In fact, it’s even more work bc it’s a lot of coordination and taking additional training on privacy law and cyber security bc there’s more data being transferred. Then the Regional zoom meetings -the Directors want to have weekly status calls. And our dept manager calls once a week to “check in” on any concerns (he’s low key checking to see if we’re logged in and accessible lol) . But he’s good though (first black man in that position since I’ve been there so I try to be extra diligent to make sure he has no issues) Prior to this lockdown, he is the exact opposite of micro manager - he’s gives us leverage and as long as deadlines are met and we are responsive, he didn’t care - keeps it professional, knows his shyt and doesn’t c00n. He pulled me to the side and made the initial decision for me to work from home when all this started going down bc he knew I’m a mother and child care would be an issue. But prior to all this, I spoke to dude formal in person meetings maybe once every 4 months . That’s it.

but getting dressed and prepped for work, wearing office clothes, daily commute before all this put me in a zone to work, know what I mean?
I’m a person that works best off structure and schedules. Now it’s just like get up when I feel like it, log in at 9:30ish, take a mid day nap, check email, if there’s nothing pressing- watch a show, make sure homeschooling is done, browse sites, get back to work. I’m not going to sound pretentious like people being all pressed to get back to work bc I know not everyone has the opportunity or resources, or even a job but I need the discipline-

Lot of distractions and it took an adjustment period but I’m grateful for the quality time with family, the down time bc I dead feel guilty those times working all hours and rushing through on “normal”‘days before all this. Now it’s like if the kids want to make cupcakes at 11:30 in the afternoon - f it, why not. I just see it as a “Reset” as long as everybody stays healthy.
