I tried getting in on this a few years ago with Call of Duty( MW3) vids, made a few vids with a couple that got over 5,000 views, and it felt like my channel was picking up some steam as I gained subscribers. Then I realized that playing the game with the sole intent of getting gameplays that were worthy of uploading made the game much more frustrating( and MW3 was already frustrating enough), and I stopped uploading after a while because it wasn't fun to play anymore. I tried going back like a year later to make more vids and found out my pvr broke somehow and said fukk it.

I'm thinking about getting back into it now for Destiny because I don't see a lot of gameplays for it, but I wish I stuck it out back then, felt like I could've had alot of subscribers by now. If I do I'll post em here if anyone cares.

Full of jump cuts and random ass videos from weird kids who are now adults making guap

i had a channel making $300 to $800 a month

the challenge is keeping up with all the rule changes and shifting trends
one little tweak to an algorithm and suddenly you lose 75% of your views if you don't adjust quickly
audience can be fickle- want steady content
then complain if they feel shyt is watered down
lots of crazies, racists, etc. can target your channel with flags and DMCA
get age restricted by angry critics and lose the high paying ads
etc.

it's fun (at times)
in particular young telegenic people (18 to 30) can make serious bank
but it is so volatile- don't count on youtube videos to pay the rent

They get around $1000 per million views give or take [I know someone who had a random video of his get a million and he got a 1000 dollar check so Im not speaking out my ass on that number, MTV also picked up the video and paid him $500 to use the footage on some show my guess was it's the show Ridiculoussness].

There's a guy that did an Ama on reddit who was a gamer youtuber. Not even that popular, only had 150k-250k subscribers at the time. Said he was making somewhere in the 60k-80k range. You do math from there.

Mainly because we don't get the news presented the way I feel we should, as black people.

Spending too much time bullshyting online and in general instead of doing like them cats are. That stuff takes up a lot of time esp before you build up your audience.
