he woulda made money off the GTA video if he monetized it. But back then you had to be partnered to monetize (things have changed now) and if that was his 1st big video then he wouldnt of got partnered

Yeah I mentioned with video games you need a mcn, they'll get you the licensing rights

:leon: well let me shut up. So why is Pewdiepie on a MCN then? They said he was signed for life with his first one Maschinima then he fought to get out, and for some reason signed to another one and they say his contract wasn't that much better. I know MCN's provide more than just licensing.

I get MCN offers (even talked it about it once on here), but all they do is help advertise your videos to people who arent subscribed to you, but might be subscribed to the MCN. Machima is a huge one, TGN is another big one (thats the one that offered to help me)

think of them like Clear Channel billboards helping advertise your product. They just a middle person.

You have your channel
MCN has a wide audience of people subscribed to them
You post a new video, they post it to their Google+ channel + youtube channel

and sometimes you see an increase in channel views

I would think PewDiePie is big enough to not need them though :yeshrug:

someone like me that was attempting to get bigger at one point, can see uses in them though..

How much are you making off your channel?

ive made $95.46 this year off 57,692 views and 127,639 minutes watched

my most successful video this year - 20,902 views ($43 off this video alone, 4:30 minute long video)
my most successful video of all time ( I aint get paid on this shyt because I didnt have a google adsense account tied to the account at time) - 64,537 views

I have 3 videos over 35k views
23 videos over 1k views
Total channel views: 221,335
Total subscribers: 328

if I had my adsense account linked up earlier, id make about $350-500 off my channel.. Cause my videos are 3-10 minutes long and the longer the video and the more ads pop up the more you get paid

I aint shyt on youtube and made $100 this year. Imagine if I had 3,000 subscribers and 2 million views.. it'd pay for a vacation + christmas easily. I dont dedicate myself to it at all.. Ive had my youtube channel since early 2012, and I upload a few videos a year (usually when im interested in a game)

so do the math

$43 off 21k views of a 4:30 minute long video

Average popularity youtubers average that on videos and upload 1-3 videos a day + getting paid off their old videos :yeshrug: about $100-200 a day if you dedicated and have 3-5k subscribers

They just recenlt changed that length of video thing too. I know URLTV/Smack is making that cheese. The hitman holla/tsu surf battle has over 800k views in a week and its damn near a hour long :wow:

You're not really too late.
Dude(producer) i know just made 450 last month off youtube, and thats just his second month. And all he does is post beats on it. HOWEVER, he made almost 10 staccs in september off soundclick.

That selling beats to aspiring rappers money :ohlawd:
i'm bout to get back on my producer tip... i didn't even think of that

all you gotta do is post "drake type beat" and you are promised a shytload of views

charge something dumb like $10 for leases and watch the bums come running.. any ever make it big, you good... any of them don't... you good

i didn't even know nikkas still were on soundclick finding beats.. 10 stacks tho :blessed:

How do they make money though?

Do they get cash everytime someone watches a video or what?
  • Kay has earned $100,000 to $300,000 in each of the last three years. She has 1 million subscribers. That number is merely the gross revenue, however.
  • She makes 20 videos a week, all of which are filled with ads via Google's automated YouTube partners program.
  • Kay likely gets about $7.60 per 1,000 ad views, down from $9.35 in 2012, according to TubeMogul, which buys and sells video ads.
  • Ads are only run on a minority of videos shown. Roughly, a video creator will earn $2,000 for every million views. "And then YouTube takes 45 percent," the Times notes. (The IRS will take its cut of the remainder, too.)
  • Kay spends $500-$700 a week on editing costs.

Neither of those videos are making any money. Youtube has rules as to what videos can be monetized. You can't upload sports highlights and get paid, that's copyrighted content. Same thing with other artists songs. It has to be your own original content in order for you to monetize. Well actually you can hook up with what's called a "multichannel network" who handle licensing rights with different entities that will allow you to monetize certain content, like video games and whatnot.
vacation videos are the easiest way to get gains... and i know a lot of us go on vacation from the threads.. we should get more video and do reviews on countries and cities since we all spread out

why do i say this.. cause i posted 3 vids up of cancun and they got me over 300k views

but i can't make any money off them, cause songs are playing in the background.. and i literally mean you can hear a beat and bass... that's all it takes to get "you cannot monetize this video"

but people go on trips, they wanna youtube the spot.. see what it's like... see the hotel.. see the city..

if we can start uploading those, with original music in the background, it'd make crazy money... but there would be so many hands in the pot... it's kind of something you need to do as a traveling man... someone who does a lot of business trips could make money off that

that's cause they haven't found you yet

they don't have video software to detect what you have... but they do have audio software.. even then it's not good

took them 6 months to send me a copyright for one song... turns out it was my song, but used the same sample.. so i won

another year to find a blatant copy of me rapping over a mobb beat... they shut that down but still i can post the video and get views

all it takes is someone to report you for it.. then they'll ask that you have proof that you are licensed to use it.. shyt that's real life.. you can't have pepsi in a movie cause you want it there.. they gotta ok it first

:dahell: im partnered with youtube before they partnered just anyone(2012). Youtube even offered me to stream games on their site (at the time, only a couple hundred people at most had this access)..

you can stream / record video games no issue at all. Reread my post, I said I cant have 3rd party music on it.
