Thats why I never watch the late night show anymore. fukking hipsters have taken over the damn tonight show.Haha not even an hour ago some extremely white, society type artist girl, who's probably at least 33 was talking about playing that song, and I was like 'Thats the last song I'd expect you to want to hear', and she told me about Emma Stone on Fallon….'All I Do Is Win' is near parody status anyway, but sometimes them mocking it is uncomfortable...

I still don't understand the single record game sales... like if your song sells 1 million copies, how much is the artist getting paid? let alone the producers, songwriters, etc
?????
I see Lady Gaga was on that wave but I haven't heard her in a while... Rihanna doin numbers I guess but DJ Khaled? I don't know anybody in Cali who's buying his shyt off iTunes but I guess...

It says 596,230 copies have been sold so far. Singles are typically sold at $1 each. So $596,230 so far. It's currently sitting at #3 on the charts, the song will continue to sell $150k+ for the next couple months.
One thing that's confusing me is Chris Brown's loyal, is him being in jail affecting his sales? That songs been top ten for months now and it's only sitting at 600k while Iggy song just really started picking up steam in the last couple weeks and it's about to lap him.![]()
Depends on the artist deal but remember the label recoups from the artist advance before a check gets cut to the artist so it depends on gow much they spent on promo. Most dont see any money cause promo is expensive. Thats why they say they make more touring. Itunes takes 30% off top too.I still don't understand the single record game sales... like if your song sells 1 million copies, how much is the artist getting paid? let alone the producers, songwriters, etc

The labels do make money. Its the artist that get screwed. After itunes that milly is 700k. 40% goes to tax. 420k left. Lets say the label takes just 50%. That leaves 210k. artist mgmt takes 20%. 168k left. Producer writers etcs get their cut and whatever is left goes towards paying off the artist advance. so if your advance was over 100k its not looking good. you can change the percentages around but the concept is the same. But my thing is how much are labels really spending. I doubt most artists are getting more than $500k on a budget. So a single that sells a million, even after itunes/retailers/distributors cut pretty much recouped the budget and then some. So the album sales just become a bonus?
