Nah, N64 is goated.

Only folks who weren’t around during that time, or didn’t have friends would disagree

Imagine not being able to play Metal Gear Solid or Tekken or Final Fantasy or Gran Turismo :mjlol:

It was the multiplayer console

It had some great games but we know PS had the better library

Still, memories were made playing 4 player split screen on N64 that were unmatched for folks of a certain age

There was nothing like the THQ Wrestling games, Goldeneye, Smash or Mario Party on PS. It is what it is

Ocarina stands beside Metal Gear Solid, FF7 and Half Life as being iconic and influential

:gucci: The disrespect

N64 was probably the game me and the family and every kid in the neighborhood played together. It was a bonding console. I’m a Sony PlayStation head til I die lol but you’re going too far off the deep end OP

Not until there’s at least 8 pages to truly cement it as the greatest of that gen

As someone at the time who specifically asked for an N64 for christmas because i wanted sequels to all the big JRPGs from SNES era (earthbound, mario rpg, final fantasy, etc) it was the most disappointing console ever even though it had some sleepover classics.

3rd party leaving Nintendo is what changed my gaming habits.

Had a nikka playing Quest 64, while FF7 was out

a shirtless young boy is sitting on a couch .
Real shyt

I remember asking my parents for Quest because I wanted Final Fantasy like my cousin

Ended up trading it in for Banjo Kazooie so quick lol

Yep, and even as a kid I was never really competitive, I like coop games but other than that...yeah lets play the same tracks on MK64 for the 100th time or run around doing the same shyt on Goldeneye we been doing for months :camby:

If I wanted a little competitive play I had the goat Tekken 2 and if I wanted single player goodnes had RE, MGS, hundreds of JRPGS, Sympogoat of the night, too many to name.

N64 is when Nintendo lost me and I never looked back
Yeah, it was a lot of games, and sequels to those games that people played and it kept everything else afloat.

I mean there were some titles like Beetle Racing or whatever that were kinda out there.

I’m building an emulation library rn and like, it’s crazy have few N64 games there really are worth playing.
