I will say me and my nikkas was still playing 64 well over a decade after that gen was over. I'm currently playing Majora's mask right now. Still got the 64 set up to the tv. Outside of hacked psp era, I've never gone back and played ps1 games. Got the goat console, backwards compatible ps3. 8 play ps2 games all the time. Never ps1 though. They aged like shyt.

i liked it, but its lineup was very limited. it was the first real console nintendo had to dedicate its focus to rather than let 3rd parties do a majority of the work to move the system. very few fighters and traditional rpgs on it at that time crippled the system for me.

but i will say, to me, wrestling games have never been better than what the n64 put out

I don't think it had the type of catalog of it's predecessors. But, there were a few great ones on this console that just remain fun to this day. As a retro guy I keep a working N64 and PS2 at all times. Genesis and original NES are harder for me to stack up. So I baby my working Genesis. Don't have a running NES currently.

Back in my hometown we have a vintage video game store that sells all retro consoles/games. Grabbing a SNES next time I’m in town. My daughter gotta experience them classics like I did

Even though I was and still am more of a Playstation head (there were just too many exclusives like MGS and FFVII you couldn't get on N64) I can definitely admit it had a lot of classics.

As far as multiplayer goes Goldeneye and Mario Kart were legendary back int he day.

Nintendo always had the WOAT controllers. That N64 controller was an abomination. For the types of games that I like to play ps1 >>>> n64. I never cared for nintendo properties tbh. But GoldenEye 64 w/ 4 players was dope. So Thats the only thing I would give n64 over the ps1 the ability to do 4 players without a multitap. Some games would of been dope to play with all my brothers and dad at the same time.

N64 is cool but Dreamcast & PlayStation had more variety. I was a big Shenmue fan along with Marvel Vs. Capcom 2. Plus I have emulator games with SNES & Nintendo games I’ve burnt.

Facts, N64 don't got nothing like MVC2 or Shenmue but I'll let it live cause the Dreamcast a whole generation newer
