Folk are getting a little too carried away from one game. Brady is not crap and Alex isn't going to finally break out after 10 years.
Pats did get exposed though. Line got no push and the secondary got ate up. Run d atrocious. I'm sure they'll address it.
If he continues to limit his mistakes but throw more downfield like last night's game and make more explosive plays....then he and the Chiefs have a better chance going forward.I really don't understand why people throw on that cape for Alex smith. If you have a pretty good team he's an alright qb that'll take you to the playoffs. Good luck going deep in the playoffs with him though![]()
comedy.
theory tho: crabtree & maclin weren't real #1s, so how much of his lack of production is on that?![]()
Ryan

Those are the only QBs I have over him clearly. There's another 5-6 that are on his same level that I wouldn't be mad at ranking over him, but he slick has a case for top 10 I would take today, depending on how good my defense is
You can't be serious. Can't believe some of the nonsense I'm reading. Y'all stay in the moment.
I'm dead serious. This is more of a testament to how I feel about the state of the position right now than praise of Smith, but I would've said the same thing 48 hours ago. There's a whole chunk of QBs he's about even with that I could make a case for or against.
People aren't used to the Pats getting manhandled at home like that. They basically got carved up by a rookie and 2nd year player. Now they learned the importance of having a quality pass rush. Their run defense is garbage. Like you said, they will regroup and probably shopping around for some more defensive players.
I am excited about K.Hunt. His ball catching ability is excellent! In fantasy, he is a potential PPR beast! His stock just skyrocketed and he may haves saved Alex Smiths job for a year or two because that rookie QB is breathing down his neck for that QB spot.
Where would Alex be without a run game and a top D? He'd probably have better numbers but IMO wouldn't be all that great. You got him as a top 10 QB? fukk outta here.
I said he has a CASE for top 10 along with like 5-6 other QBs. You acting like I got him firmly entrenched in my top 5. He does benefit from solid defense and running game, but those phases of the game benefit from him managing the game as well. He's not as physically talented as Stafford or as accomplished as Flacco or Manning, but I don't trust them to not throw a pick in critical situations. He's had more playoff success than Dalton and gone just as far as Rivers and Luck, the man was two fumbled punts away from the Super Bowl in 2011. Mariota, Winston, and Wentz will most likely be better but they're still young and developing. I think Newton may have irreparable damage from all those hits he took last year, but would be better if/when he's truly healthy again. That's 10 QBs that I could see above him depending on circumstances. That's also 10 QBs who are just as likely to lose a game than due to errors as they are to win a game due to being more talented in comparison to Smith. You would take Alex Smith over Cam?I'm dead serious. This is more of a testament to how I feel about the state of the position right now than praise of Smith, but I would've said the same thing 48 hours ago. There's a whole chunk of QBs he's about even with that I could make a case for or against.

It's one game. And I say this about Hunt, Brady, Alex, the Pats, etc. I remember Kaep came out against Green Bay opening day some years ago and put up 3TD and 400+ yards...then got buttfukked by Seattle the next game.

Alex Smith has been on perfect teams for his style of play....and hasn't won shyt of shyt yet
Losing eric berry hurts the defense massively, but this offense is currently perfect for what he's good at. Its kinda fukked how lucky he's gotten in terms of offensive run talent/schemes in his career. The Chiefs have been able to thrive at that position with almost undrafteds. Hunt was a beast as Toledo but I didnt think he'd have this star potential. If Alex cant at least make a conf champ this year...in an AFC, outside of the Raiders and Patriots, can be theirs for the taking...no excuses

you must have never even heard of Alex Smith before Harbaugh was hired. He had 7 OCs his first 7 years in the league. Probably top 3 most screwed over white QB in league history. Him being in good systems with Harbaugh and Reid is cosmic football karma working itself out.
