I would say, just be extremely humble (and spiritual). Keep a small circle of friends that you fully trust. Control your addictions cause exposure to everything is around you.
Read books on the business aspect of the music industry and don't let these managers take more than maybe 12%. Get you a really good lawyer and personal manager that will go over the contracts with you. Think of it as a loan with interest. Budget wisely, don't sign long term contracts over 3-5 years.
Get very use to cocaine. You will be at a record label and an exec will pause in the middle of a conversation to snort a line in front of you like it's nothing.
Be non judgemental. Homosexuality is very normal there. Keep it simple.
Get this book and read it. It's your bible. Every smart person in the music industry has read it.
