Jokic would have been successful in any era. The late 90s Spurs were the only team that had a twin tower. The other old school teams usually have a 6'9 power forward and a 7'0 ft center. They weren't built like the Timberwolves that have a depth of two 7 footers and a 6'9 small forward in the starting lineup.
In certain matchups when teammates can be neutralized yes it is relevant.
