Probably play this before Yotei since this will most likely be the shorter game.
All of the OG character action games has a Nero now
Timestamped. So Ryu will only have the katana and his other weapons will be paid DLC
Yotei dropping the same month makes this an easy skip.

From everything released so far doesn’t seem Ryu has a large part in the game.
The character you play as most of the game has plenty of weapons.
There’s some challenge mode once you complete the game that lets you go back and play through levels/bosses? as Ryu. The DLC weapons will be for that.
That’s a weak ass excuse considering they did the same thing in NG3 to only have to revise after gen pushback.
Challenge mode or not, those weapons should be included in the base game.

No, NG3 had only one playable character and one weapon.
This game has at least two playable characters and multiple weapons.
What matters is how the weapons and combat options flow throughout the game.
NG3 was the same all the way through.
Lots of games offer different extra challenge stuff through DLC.
The base game should be judged on what it offers, not what it doesn’t offer.
They’re giving Ryu the same kit as DMC4 Nero and Bayo 3 Viola. One signature weapon with an expanded moveset. I wouldn’t knock Ryu fans for waiting for a complete edition to drop. To have Ryu’s full kit tho.

For Ryu it’s not. IGN literally confirmed it. We aren’t talking about the other character.
We’re not going to sit here and pretend like other games haven’t had smaller characters have multiple weapons in the base game.
Most games i can think of including previous Ninja gaiden games have only one weapon for the “extra” characters.
What games you talking about that have extra characters that have a full set of weapons and powers of their own?
