As a 3DS owner, I wouldn't say the 3D is a failure per se. There are some games that use it to pretty good effect, thing is, that for 70% of the games, it's just not integral to the gameplay. Plus if this system is built for small children the 3D could give them motion sickness. Is it a gimmick yea, but I would say that as the system gets it's legs we could see more games implement 3D more effectively, keep in mind it took about 2 years and a redesign to get the DS going and it sold like gangbusters.

Copped one for my 3 year old son for $99 and it came with Mario Kart 7 installed. He refuses to put it down. When he does, I'm playing it. Never fukked with a DS system before but it's cool for what it is. Def worth the $100 since it came with Mario Kart 7 which I never played before.
