Nintendo making games for PS4/Xb1, good or bad Idea?

I just listened to this last night and while I think that'd be amazing if Nintendo IP's can be played on PS4/Xb1, it's unrealistic and I doubt Nintendo would EVER do that.

They make a good point, people want to play Nintendo games, they just don't want to buy a nintendo platform.

Jeff Gerstmann said the same thing a few weeks ago. Nintendo needs to let the console business go. They will save so much money on R&D and just focus on releasing piff

People have been saying that Nintendo should make games for other platforms since forever.

The thought of it seems cool on paper, but it could end in disaster in the long run (see Sega, Atari, 3DO etc.).

It needs to happen, the last time I played a nintendo console heavily was the nintendo 64....they held up pretty good to the playstation one, the wii was a gimmick, and now they have no hope save their handhelds.


An exclusive deal with the ps4 would be fitting, or maybe a timed release for the xbox one....maybe a light 10-20 year embargo can be placed, sounds fair to me.

This would be the only way Nintendo ever gets another dollar out of me. Until they take the Sega route and start putting out games for other consoles, then I'll just play Wii 1080p (emulator) when I get the 1st party Nintendo game urges

I dont get it.. isnt the xbox1 struggling just as much as wii u? Why would Nintendo need to give up their console, when they were the highest selling console no more than last generation , because ONE of their products is not doing as well ? Its not like xbox1 , the wii -u prolly doesnt cost shyt to make, and it seems they are making a come back with them sales wise through the lowered pricing + adding a game to the purchase + all their exclusives coming out finally. While the xbox1 is left in Titanfall hands and after that, then what ? This will be Microsofts last console run, not Nintendos, so Nintendo giving up makes 0 sense.

Just this past weekend on Elder Scrolls Online everyone in chat is like "this game would make more money being f2p (free to play)"

lets do some simple math here, if only (key word is only because the game is gonna sell more then the example im about to give) 2 million people subscribe to elder scrolls online, that'll be an extra $30 million a month. The game being F2P would never make up that $30 million a month difference.. ever.. What company you know would leave $30 million a month on the table ?

how the fukk more people playing the game generates more money for a game company

and even if they added micro transactions they'd never amount to $30 million a month + $60 for the game copy

If Nintendo goes and makes games for other systems. Nintendo always benefitted from their own consoles and their own vision. They were never made to conform to another console maker. They are far too original for that.

The same Sony that fumbled for the first few years of the PS3 generation? The same Sony that has 80% of their company going under? I rather let Nintendo do their own thing and learn from their mistakes to be better and stronger in the future.
