Real talk the dualshock is the LEAST influential controller of all time. The original was just an snes controller with prongs and more shoulder buttons.It was. But the PS controler didn't think so

Games were straight up ruined by forcing six axis controls into games because they were on Nintendos dikk so hard.

This may be the liquor, but if the controller is just two joysticks and a touchscreen then it means game developers can essentially develop a controller for their games. Some game would only have two buttons....others could build in more buttons with ability for the user to add in shortcuts as well. The developers won't need to build around Nintendo's button setup....and they could update their controller as they build extension packs.....it's actually quite brilliant if that's their plan.......but they'd most likely be the only game developers to take full advantage of it.
