nah, development for the PS4 and 360 is insanely expensive. In fact, they put more 3rd party companies out of business than Nintendo ever could because of insane development costs.
the Wii U shares some of the architecture of the Xbox 360 (Power PC). its also an HD system with a custom controller. its doubtable that the development cost are much lower than Xbox 360 games were. there's no way to spin this to make the Wii U an attractive option. when companies like Electronic Arts have abandoned your platform because it has proven not to be viable for them that's a telling sign.
30-35 ain't old:stopitslime:
these young cats in their 20s think they'll be in their 20s forever. i just turned 30 not too long ago and your 20s don't really seem to last that long.

All this "Nintendo needs to make PS4 and Xbone games" talk comes from one thing only, people being selfish and not wanting to buy multiple consoles. They're simply mad Nintendo is forcing them to buy their console to get to play some of the greatest games of the generation, every generation.
look i own a Wii U and i've owned every Nintendo console they've ever released outside of the Virtual Boy. it is what it is. Nintendo has been on a path of declining sales for a long time.
the thing is they always were able to keep the hardware profitable despite that but now hardware development has become so expensive even Nintendo is selling systems at a loss.

Oh yeah what games? They only got a few, with that said i love Nintendo and plan on buying one for the couple games they do got but the overall consensus of this thread is they need better games. Right now their dropping 2 maybe 3 quality games a year. Pikmin really???? Hahahahahaha

They feel like WWF when they kept trying to cater to children in 1995 and 96 when the wrestling audience had aged beyond what it was producing...the only problem is stonecold steve austin and the nwo work for sony and microsoft...and theyre still making the same ol stuff....

It finally caught up with them. A lot of people felt duped with wii
Been saying it since 2007 when it was clear the Wii was never going to be shyt to a hardcore gamer.

They disrespected their core audience with that trash ass console and are now paying for it heavy. Got Microsoft and SONY about to pass them up in a few weeks in hardware sales already.

Consoles are not dead, but Nintendo in the console business might as well be...they are fukking DONE

If your dream job is Nintendo you're most likely not shyt

:why: I don't understand the logic behind your silly ass comment but for someone who design games for living having Nintendo on your resume would be a good look. :mindblown:

Nintendo is saving the industry as we speak. If it wasn't for them. All the gamers would have is GTA, Madden, and CoD every year. On top of the fact that many gamers think that imagination is only for kids and every game has to be mature. Their $240 million loss will easily be rebounded in 2014.

Sony, on the other had, is on the verge of collapse. the PS4 is one of the only things that is selling.
I knew you were going to drop your head in here bringing up Nintendo like its still the mid 90s

Nintendo is not saving a damn thing with their shytty ass gimmicks. The fukking VITA (which has been called a failure, but a great system) has sold more and has much more potential to the gamer than a fukking Wii U

They made a big mistake releasing the 3DS without any must-have games. They made an even bigger mistake releasing the Wii U without any must-have games as well. That's why demand was low and that's why they had to drop the prices.

And I don't see the 'declining sales' path. Not when the DS and the Wii are Nintendo's highest selling handheld and home console.

I think some 12 year old fanboys talking shyt on Internet forums would have zero impact on Nintendo choosing to go 3rd party on Sony platforms. Having said that, Nintendo ain't going third party to the other two no time soon. Even with the losses they are so very far away from that scenario at this point it's delusional to think its even a possibility
So far away? You guys understand they dropped projected sales of the Wii U from 9 million to 2.6 million. Yeah, the 3DS is selling, but those sales are even decreasing. They sold the most systems last year, but it was the fewest by a sales leader EVER. Nintendo aint got shyt nowadays except the handheld game, and with all the kids playing on their kindle fires and ipads nowadays, that shyts bout to dry up too. fukk will Nintendo have then? It is going to happen a lot sooner than later. Can't wait to see their numbers at the end of the year. Hope they fukkin burrrrn.

every Nintendo home console excluding the Wii has sold worse than the console that proceed it. that means from the NES to the SNES sales went down. they went down again from the SNES to the N64 and again from the N64 to the Gamecube. Nintendo hit a home run on the fad Wii and now things have gone back to normal with the Wii U on a trajectory to do worse than even the Gamecube did. the trend has only now reached a point where everyone is paying attention to it because the Wii U sales are so low but they've been headed in this direction for a while.

"Must have software?" what like Wii Sports or Wii Fit? because the staple Nintendo franchises aren't must have software anymore. they can make Mario, Zelda, and Donkey Kong games all they want and the results will still be the same. people are growing apathetic to those games. the reason the sales numbers are so inflated on a lot of them is because they were bundled with systems for free. Must have software is now something like GTA V in the current market and less like The Legend of Zelda.

One thing I flat out don't agree with is the idea that Nintendo turned their backs on gamers by going with lower spec machines. Historically consoles have always been lower spec machines compared to PC. It was really only the last gen where this became so big of an issue. And the push to have every console game to be a graphic marvel has lead to some of the best development studios being forced to close their doors. A few studios hit big with their AAA titles and all the others try to do the same when its just not feesible. So now every game is either AAA or indie, there's no in between, that's what's hurting the industry. If more devs had have went along with Nintendos lower cost higher gameplay focused development the industry would have been far more healthy. But the industry has changed and Nintendo didn't. That's why I think it's foolish to say they turned their backs on gamers. Did they fail to adapt? sure. But did they betray gamers? I don't think so, times just changed

They make millions of their software, that's all that matters. They don't need Zelda to make GTA numbers because they have franchises that are relatively cheap to produce but sell millions (Nintendogs, Mario Party, Animal Crossing). But even then, a new Mario, Zelda or Metroid doesn't cost nearly as much as a Triple A title from EA/Ubisoft/Activision, but is almost guaranteed to sell just as much.

Sure, if they sell less consoles they'll sell less games but they've got games that are guaranteed to get bought by one out of three console owners. Those are numbers Sony and Microsoft wouldn't even dare of dreaming to be possible.
