I eat well of my Wii U. When it comes to exclusives it's winning right now. Then again, Sony and ms have been off to the slowest start on the planet. I feel like we have this same discussion once a week. Wii u is a fun platform for all ages, but it definitely should not be someone's primarily console. It doesn't have the legs to run on its own. Ps4 + wii u and I'm good for the foreseeable future.

I still plan on copping a Wi U when that Xeno game drops, hopefully we can get a Metroid game soon too. But there are just many better options with the other consoles imo so that might be the reason why nobody really cares for the system at the moment. Same here, the stans on the Coli, Gamespot, Neogaf are weirdos and fakkits. That being said, I'm actually worried the Wii U might die off prematurely because of the lack of sales, so I actually am invested in it's success as an owner.

That's complete bullshyt. 3ds is one of the best selling platforms of all time, and Nintendo IP's sell like hotcakes on it. It has everything to do with graphics, as well as a lack of 3rd party support. The Wii U is only good for Nintendo games and that's the problem. Zelda and Mario games sell extremely well, they're just on outdated hardware that lacks the marketing push and variety offered by Sony and Microsoft.

How many new or interesting IP's does Microsoft have? Or Sony really, for that matter (The Order )? Sony and Microsoft are winning because they have 3rd party support, great hardware/graphics and great branding. You say Nintendo lacks appealing games, but if you check the scores, almost all the best games of this generation are either available on the previous gen or are Wii U exclusives. Great titles like Bloodborne and eventually Final Fantasy are finally coming out now, but generally speaking, right now it's remasters and flops pitted against Bayonetta, Smash Bros, Mario Kart, Mario 3D World. It has nothing to do with Nintendo's 1st party software, that couldn't be further from the truth. They need 3rd party multiplat support and modern hardware.

Review scores have nothing to do with appeal. People just aren't interested in Nintendo franchises anymore. There was a time when Mario was enough to sell consoles.
