Hold up, hold up, hold up, brotha. What makes you so sure? With Wii U sales plummeting and now relying entirely on one upcoming game (Mario Kart), Nintendo probably realizes that the only way to keep up with Sony is to put out a system with more powerful hardware. For all we know, the Wii U might become the next Dreamcast. Great exclusives that will stand the test of time, but a total failure financially that will get canned early. All I know is, if Nintendo truly abandons the Wii U, it will be the last console I ever buy from them.

For me it's the opposite, I'm not buying a new Nintendo system until they decide they wanna compete again.

I'd be happy if they canned the wii u and decided to start aiming to be the best hard core gaming console again.

The rumor had no clear sources and IGN just wanted to stir shyt up for clicks and unfortunately, it was starting to work until Nintendo themselves came and smashed the rumor before it spread out of control.

If there's any type of hardware that's going to be revealed it's most likely a 3DS revision and that's all. Anyone that's hoping that Nintendo is gonna pull a new console out of their ass this year just to appease graphic whores and frat boys is lying to themselves. And even then, if they are working on a new console, it's probably nothing but a sketch on a whiteboard in their R&D division and probably wont be seen until 2016.
