Rappers are entertainers/celebrities like everyone else and should be afforded the same opportunity to capitalize off said celebrity. So Dre should have just stuck to being a producer/rapper...f*ck some Beats by Dre, never mind the fact it's got him brining in 8 figures+ damn near every year. Or maybe Puff should have said f*ck it, I'ma just be a label head and dance in everybody's videos instead of this Ciroc, Sean Jean or Revolt sh*t...who wants to be the first Hip-Hop Billionaire.
Do realize how stupid all that sh*t you typed was?

(1) Dre is a producer he is NOT going left field by selling headphones...That is still MUSIC related...So, that was a poor example breh...Because Dre can sell microphones, MIDI keyboards, mixers, headphones, DAWs, VSTs and etc, because he is a PRODUCER and those are things that producers may use...

(2) You takes Puffy's rapping career seriously...Dude is the reason hip hop is a circus today...

(3) So, what I am saying is NOT stupid...

Where do you draw the line with these rappers, they are selling everything but good music...?

You can't compare Nip to tha camel
Nip is an authentic banger, really lived it, not just a street reporter
nip always been a hustler, hell his name is Nipsey hussle , his raps are motivational tell young nikkaz to get off they ass and grind
as far as him not being a crip anymore, that's an outsiders presumption just cuz he blowing up now, don't get it twisted that nikka still in tha hood catchin fades and knockin nikkaz out! no extraz
yeah in ways hip hop is a come up, but you have to look at tha disadvantaged areas where hip hop came from, it's human nature to want to "come up", fuc art, nikkaz is trying to eat!

I have no beef with Nipsey doing what he has to do...

I am just stating an opinion of how I believe what he is doing is NO good for hip hop in the end...And he is not the only...

If rappers want to open their own juice bars burger joints and etc that's fine...But can they please keep it separate from the music...?

Take Metallica for example, arguably the GOAT heavy metal band...Metallica is known for heavy metal, of course it is cool for them to sell speciality guitars, drums, amps and other related instruments...It makes sense...But we Metallica fans don't want to see them selling juice bars, burger joints and etc...

And making jingles for every well known brand name out there...

He's not saying they shouldn't do outside ventures. The problem is when they become known for that more than the music. IMO it takes away from the artistic integrity.

IMO valuable were the days when a rapper was a rapper and a rockstar was a rockstar. And he lived for nothing more. It shows dedication to the craft and culture.

Nowadays with artists making their endorsements louder than their actual music career, the culture is looking like nothing more than a billboard to make an extra buck.

So why not live out his raps by actually hussling? Isn't that staying authentic to his art?
