Nip was nowhere near major, the immediate equivalent when I think of Nip is that NYC probably would have reacted the same way if French had gotten killed around the time Stay Scheming came out. Dudes would have constructed elaborate stories about what could have been.

Nah man. Dolph was regularly getting play throughout the south, had multiple projects that debuted high on the charts, and had certifications. Nip had one album that made any noise before death, and his only certs came after death.

Don't get me wrong, Nip was ascending. Victory Lap was successful, Racks In the Middle had just come out and was bubbling. But when you look at his whole career Dolph was more popular. Dolph was THAT dude for a lot of young people, especially these thots and stripper types.

Erm was a personal friend & classmate of mine

My girl went to elementary with him & we met in 9th grade…


His impact and hustle and vision is why he’s so greatly admired and respected. The rap shyt was cool, the the moves he was making outside of that were even bigger.
