Breh the culture is so unapologetically fake. nikkas done turned this man into the new 2pac when Pac at least had several gold and platinum plaques.

Half the people repping Nipsey can’t even name a mixtape
To be completely honest with you I never heard of him until he got killed and the thread was made here. I don't really listen to hip hop/rap.

I looked him up and seen what he about. He seemed to have moderate success but not much of a star. I didn't understand why people considered him such an inspirational figure when the average person would most likely not get inspirational quotes to live by from a rapper. Or at the least it wouldn't be their main source. No offense.

But on other hand, I guess many of them aren't bright and are trapped in the bird/ratchet, rap/hip hop bubble. So someone like Nispey would seem like Socrates to them.

Breh you a fool if you don't believe that if given the opportunity to make $500 million, that Nip wouldn't have been open to that.

Yes, he was authentic. But if he could remain authentic and get that money too, he would have done it.

You need to stop it.

I didn't say Nip didn't have any love. Yes, he had his die hard fans, but his name wasn't coming out of everybody's mouth like it was after he died.

And you a fool if you think he was the biggest west coast rapper after Kendrick Lamar.

Y'all victims of the narrative. I'm done with this convo.

If you think I'm wrong, I dare you to search the coli and see how many Nipsey Hussle threads folks were making before he died. Then look at how many were made AFTER he died.

That will prove my point right there.

nikka you need stop…

Who the fukk is a 500 million or billionaire who is authentic…:stopitslime:

You are simple minded and delusional thinking that when you reach that level of superstardom in the world that you were “authentic” and “keeping it real”

You are only seen as a brand and a commodity. Companies will only fukk with you because you have potential to make them even more money. And in doing so you will have to comply with certain things that might go against your own personal beliefs just to make a dollar.

So miss me with that bullshyt argument about being real and authentic you have no idea what Hollywood or the game is about.

That's true, the other side of the coin is that he was grammy nominated while still being alive and the album debuted #4 on the Billboard charts. He did 56,000 first week and the album sold 160,000+ units by the end of 2018 with zero radio hits. For comparison, the only other West Coast rapper who sold 56,000 first week that year was YG (Stay Dangerous), who debuted at #5 on the Billboard charts, and that was off the strength of "Big Bank" featuring Nicki Minaj and Big Sean. Nipsey was the hottest in the streets here by a mile.

The "regional" rapper y'all are thinking of in that timeframe is 03 Greedo, THAT is regional. Nipsey was doing more than what a regional rapper would do.
