this is a part of Black culture, we're afraid to be to smart in front of each other.

this is why I had to stop hanging around all of my people for a while until I got it fully understood that I can't hold back my intelligence in fear of making my friends feel insecure, now I put them on books and make sure we're all getting this knowledge so no one feels bad or left out.

that's exactly the point, if we can remove the hurdle of having to pretend like we're ignorant and uneducated, that will be a HUGE step forward for us a community.
