I'm still setting it up everything is gonna be online so I'm just doing my research... :jbhmm: you got a connect, tips?
Oh yeah you do dude with the Action Jackson book. Nah, I don't really have any connections especially for promoting a book. Maybe you can try to see if there's ny relevant subreddits and try posting on there. Also might look for influencers on IG, youtube, facebook in your niche. Idk any influencers that review books but there are probably some out there.

No way be made that money in a quarter :russ:

There's gotta be more to it
tunecore lets you keep 100% of your sales revenue

so if your cd sells for 9.99 on itunes.... and itunes pays out 7.99.. then you only need to sell 100k to make 799k

i'm a member of tunecore and have been for years... their periods are 3 months long and you get a breakdown by period

mind you, you are on unlimited stores and streaming sites for that 29.99 per album fee... so i have albums on apple, apple music, android, spotify, tidal, and literally 50 other sites, worldwide.. plus amazon sells hard copies if you want those

for him to do 900k a quarter, that's really nothing with all the sites it's on for sale at... plus you get paid off all the streaming apps too

meanwhile universal probably giving their artists 25 cents a sale

You can use something like instagress to mass follow other accounts in your niche [again I'm not sure which users on IG read books but some of them probably do]

Good for him, the internet is way too big now for people not to use it. These companies are basically stealing money from the artist, you can promote your own stuff and keep your money.

With 360s is it still 10 cents a record?
yup... plus now they getting percents of all your other money too

where before they was giving 10 cents and nothing else.. that's why anybody who was in rap prior to 2010s, straight up feel disrespected to be offered a 360.. and a lot of artists who were just getting signed but kept the old deal, were getting threats from the label to sign a new 360 or never get their album dropped (lupe with lasers)

these labels know you some broke or middle class dude... you are not going to be able to compete with the FAME they give you, so they will offer you shyt and tell you it's good for you

like people are saying in here, nipsey don't have the fame, or press, or awards like these other dudes... but while they selling 30k and all over the place for pennies... he's doing 100k and quietly counting all his money

BUT PLEASE DO NOT KID YOURSELF

the likely hood of you pushing even 10k records without serious connects and money behind you is fukking impossible... look at his records and who is on them and who produces them and shyt

you are not getting these features and production with no 5k..... not even 50k would get all the people that was on slauson boy 2

but i'm sure through gang affiliation, drug money and label deals he had in the past, he's made enough connections to get favors and passes

Just go to Tunecore. Register an account and upload your album. It cost 30 bucks to put your album up on Tunecore or 20 bucks for a single and you have to pay a yearly amount of about 40 per album release. The reason you do this is so you keep all your money you make off the album. Other companies like CD Baby will upload it for free and take 30% off all sales. But if you miss a payment Tunecore keeps your royalties but you can take the album down anytime you want say if you get a new record deal or something. It's worth it, the Tunecore account alone takes up 2 pages of Google based on the stores it puts your shyt in. Combine that with the official website that I paid for hosting and designed http://citylivemediagroup.com/ and my online presence is there. BTW I just got booked for two paid shows next week. Promoter Googled my album and booked me off that. The pay is absolute shyt but any money for rocking the mic is good money. After the Holidays when I get some money I'm shooting a few music videos for more visuals

I be rapping on "free" beats that producers put out. About how much do you pay to own the beats and the rights to it so you can make money

:wow:Nip showing cats the ropes...it's rare you get a nucca that try n teach you the game....SALUTE as always

For real for real. Thats what i hate about people. Even tho i dont have alot of game, whenever i do get the knowledge of anything i quickly
share it with people like me (usually people of color and/or from struggling neighborhoods as i am).

Must be that Habesha blood in him :blessed:

Btw, him saying "UM"; is that a double meaning or am i lookin into it too much?
UM = them and/or Universal Music (Group)? I mean they are in capital letters too right?

I've heard some of the marathon mondays song and I've listened to Crenshaw but damn it seems long ago since I've checked him out. Same with guys like KRIT, J, Cole, Dom Kennedy. Idk used to listen to them 2010-2013 and then stopped for some reason.Tbh I stopped listening to alot of rap in general and started trying to fukk with some older RnB, house. I might go back cause these new guys really aren't cutting it

Gems from 2015

KRIT - Its Better This Way 10/10
Wale - The Album About Nothing 9/10
Scarface - Deeply Rooted 9/10
