Yea I really like this record...

I actually agree with his comment on life is a fight against our disbeliefs; in fact, I argue that he's only telling half the story: life is a fight against our beliefs and disbeliefs...here's why: throughout life, we cycle through cultures, systems, institutions, literature, and societal trends that create binaries in our mentality. Beliefs are sometimes disrupted and disbeliefs can become your norm...in other words, the constant socioeconomic and cultural interferences that barrage us daily tend to reconstruct our belief system. C.L.R. James, Cedric Robinson, Robert Chrisman, and Aldon Morris delve into this in relation to the black experience and how our beliefs are constantly challenged throughout life and reevaluated as disbeliefs or strengthened as a tool of collective power, depending on the stimuli....I'm getting a bit deep with this, but this something that blacks really need to think about on a serious level...

So another great thread by the homie @MichaelStrathanGap :leocongrats:

"Really life is a fight against your disbeliefs."

He's right :wow:

Looking at it from a religious perspective, most religous people have periods of time where they struggle with their faith.

And scientists make a profession out of proving their theories and weighing different possibilities.

Lawyers try to remove reasonable doubt in court.

Nipsey with a profound statement :wow:

I feel sorry for you. :to:
Allow. A typical person's day is the struggle of waking up, the struggle of going to work/going to school, the struggle of doing more work, then going to bed. Why do you think people drink so much on the weekends? As a hobby or coping mechanism :mjlol:

I personally think of living as a constant struggle between cost & reward. We do things because the reward justifies the cost. School, work, marriage, even something as simple as changing the channel is an example of the reward justifying the cost... and if it ever doesnt, you simply dont do it.

Whats he's suggesting though goes much deeper than my outlook, and is much more difficult... I'm gonna let it roll around a bit, and get back to you.

At face value though, I'd agree.
I agree 100%...

Also, in my perspective...
Life is a balance between what you have and what you still want, and what affects that balance is (a) your ability to get what you still want, and (b) your ability to keep what you already have...

Basically, life is a bout desire and power...

Beliefs and disbeliefs don't mean shyt...

Who says a Rollin Sixty Crip, cant have lyrics lol.

I'll start off by saying im a fan of nip. And have been since Ermias was slinging cds out in Sacramento in front of Florenas Gardens. I think every individual is constantly fighting beliefs/disbeliefs. I would hope that a person wouldn't take stuff on face value......Always question it, always try to piece apart certain things. Every thing is constantly being question akhi (you and your threads i swear lol........good shyt though.) From religion to politics , "Should I put my Faith In Obama?" "Are they other life-forms outside of or inside Earth (like on some Agharta type steeze), Is the Earth Hollow, Is Islam a peaceful religion? , Does God exist?,etc. So yeah i would agree with him because i've had that experience. Then there cognitive dissonance. That just how i view it cant speak for the other cats mention and on here. This is one of the reason i like section like Higher Learning it allows an un-oneside view, to be brought to the table and discuss (even though sometime shyt get derailed).
good post...you stunted on us with the government though..."Ermias" lol
