:ahh: We did it again. It's sad to see SuzukiGun's momentum halted like that, tho.

Meltzer was going crazy for the match (I guess another *****):

This was an unreal match. It was probably the best prolonged selling of any match in a decade or longer. The first 30 minutes were Suzuki just destroying Okada's knee. He put him in all kinds of heel hooks and kneebars and even the figure four. The story was that Okada would never submit. The crowd was actually almost quiet becauase of how one-sided the match was. The entire story was that it was clear Suzuki was winning but Okada kept never quitting. They did a ref bump spot and then Taichi, Archer and Smith interfered. Then Ishii and Yano ran them off. They teased the Royce Gracie-Sakuraba finish as Gedo, in the role of Helio, was about to throw in the towel, but Okada told him not to. Later, Okada was back getting his knee destroyed and they brought up how nobody was going to throw in the towel. What is amazing was how this played off the Blaydes-Milstead fight earlier tonight. The ref was about to stop the match but Okada made the ropes. Okada and Suzuki then started trading slaps and twice Suzuki got Okada in the choke. Okada actually teased a Gotch piledriver. Suzuki did as well but Okada got out of it. Finally after almost 40 minutes, Okada twice hit the rainmaker but coiuldn't follow up on it because of knee damage but won with tjhe third rainmaker. This was totally unlike any great match you'll ever see.

Go Ace has to leave. That shyt is getting no reaction at all:camby:

What a crew. And they lost too :dead:

Watched the main event without already knowing the result for the first time in a while. Great match, but really didnt need to be 40+ minutes when so much of that time was Okada in knee bars

I legitimately thought Okada was gonna tap at one point

Really, we already got people complaining about Okada's selling? What do you guys expect, that he should hop on one leg the whole match? Everyone is so damn inconsistent with how they critique the extent of body part selling. Like these dudes are supposed to be crippled or something. But then the selling in some other match will be completely ignored by the same critics.

Suzuki slapped the fukk outta Okada:whoo:

The result was the right one. Omega needs to be the one to best Okada

I'm not invested in the rest of the booking.

:laff: It's ok that he loves the style and matches but there's little things funnier than Dave's hyperbole. It's getting to the "great matches" he was seeing from Randy Orton on every PPV a couple of years back, Meltz was pretty much the only one seeing greatness on those average ass matches :heh: now he's seeing GOATness in fun matches and the internet is losing it's shyt :pachaha:

So Okada talked about Tiger Mask W in the New Japan Cup.

I'm going Omega is in it, too. I'm already setting myself up for disappointment.

The majority of the match was working on the knee, which was also the focal point prior to the match. When one of your main joints is being worked on for that long you shouldn't be doing kip ups or moves that land on it. At least sell some fukkin more if they're gonna invest that much time working on a part of the body.

A lot of og wrestlers need to teach these youngins the art of selling.

:stopitslime:

Why would a bum knee stop a kip up

Not to mention, he sold the knee pain when he landed the kip up

:stopitslime:

If this the extent we are gonna go to critique selling, then literally zero matches have good selling, ever.

Because even a bad knee being worked on can lead to a knee injury if it continues to be worked on. Isn't that the damn point of working on a body part? To weaken it to the point you injure it? You don't do kip ups or put much pressure on it. It just shyts on wrestling psychology. :comeon:

Yeah he sold the kip up, but barely. It seemed more like, "oh shyt, I forgot my knee was being worked on. Let me sell a bit."

I thought the show was solid. The main event was just way too long. Watching submission wrestling for 40 minutes is just boring. 20 minutes would have been sufficient. 4 stars for me.

Ospreay is dope, breh. If I was the WWE, I'd look into him more than Omega.

His body is already breaking down. I remember reading he constantly gets spasms or some shyt. He's only like 23 I believe. Wouldn't be a good acquisition

Edit: Any matches worth watching?
