Y’all sound like old men in here shaking your fist.

Kids ain’t really watching regular tv shows much anymore. They watch streamers doing random shyt, playing with toys and making up their own stories, playing games, etc……

You may not think it has value but to find out what people want and create content that leads to you making millions of dollars does require a talent or you would be doing it too.
I disagree. Millions of people watch kittens playing on YouTube, it doesn’t mean the kitten—or the person who uploaded the video—has a talent. As someone else mentioned, people will watch him and Akademiks sleep on Twitch. That says more about how stupid their audience than it does about their “talent”.

He’s not talented, and we shouldn’t lower the standard of what being talented means to fit the narrative of this generation. We did the same thing for the Paris Hiltons and Kim Kardashians of the world. Being popular (or being used for mass marketing campaigns) has nothing to do with talent.

What is with this site and having some wanna be down peter pan ass nikkas always trying to rationalize some dumb shyt as "you're being old" "this is the same as xyz from the 80s/90s/2000s". There is literally a streaming subgenre for watching people eat food and smacking their lips. Stuff like this or Mr. Beast giving away money on cam is not a fukking talent, its just a culmination of years of diligently seeking attention.

This is why buying followers and views is such big business. People backwards rationalize something thats popular/viral as something that must be important. I see how Andrew Tate got so big out of nowhere. But I guess thats just " talent"

Dallas, Texas but living in Houston, Texas
people actually send these losers money :scust:
That's what I don't understand! I sometimes watch a game play video out of boredom but I'm not spending hours of my life doing it and damn sure not going to give someone money to watch them play! :pachaha:

Does he use the word alot period?

If so, that's exactly why I don't trust black people who use the word. Black people who refer to black people as "n1ggas" usually have very little pride in being black themselves and that's literally how they view black people... as "n1ggas", the most degrading word in our language.

And also notice HOW the word is being used in this clip..... to degrade and belittle. Notice the aggressive energy in which the word is being used.

It's a word that blacks use to demean each other, not as a loving and positive term of endearment.
I just don’t understand how that could be a term of endearment when most of the time it was the last word that our ancestors heard before they were fukking killed. It’s so funny that people talk all of this FBA shyt and all that other stuff, but readily call your brethren such a term. A term that came from brutality the world over, but especially in this country. Make it make sense. I don’t use that word and no context at all. As a matter fact, I look at people strange that do.

You ever watch tv in the middle of the day. It’s people cooking, decorating homes, working airport security, going to work, eating food, etc…….

Why is doing that mundane shyt good enough to be on tv but you have a problem with people doing other random shyt on the internet? These people making content that millions of people consume had to do something to separate themselves from the pack.

Not everything is for you breh.

On tv =/= talent the same way on youtube =\= talent.

The Reality TV era is not something to be applauded as a success. Those cheap to produce boring ass shows ruined the viewership of many channels.

Animal planet, discovery, mtv (viacom) and many others never recovered after embracing that garbage and killed off the cable model.

Breh I fukk with you as a poster but nah....I disagree with pretty much all this.

The sole reason streamers blew up with Gen Z, is because Gen Z is socially awkward and prone to living vicariously through these people.

The term "parasocial" exists for a reason.

And no, most of these people on either side of the equation are not normal people "just doing shyt on the internet". 50,000 people watching someone sleep is NOT normal, well adjusted behavior.

There's a reason most streamers don't do public events....there's a reason no streamers show any clues as to where they live. They know their fans are weirdos and will stalk them. Most big streamers have been stalked. Some, like Emiru, had to locate to another state.

There's a reason most big streamers admit they have mental health issues, and go see psychiatrists. People having nervous break downs on stream, crying, going through break ups live....several people have literally died on stream. This seems normal to you?

So nah, I wouldn't say any successful streamer is talented. None of them. They're just ok with compromising their mental and physical health for views.

Not everyone is with that. :manny:

I can’t say I disagree with your premise but what I’m saying here is finding out what people want to see and giving it to them is a talent.

There are people who get paid a lot of money to do exactly that at every tv, radio, movie studio, music venue, etc…..in this country.

To figure out what people want, present it in a way where your content is preferred over others, and then keep that pipeline going…….yes that’s a talent. The parents who produced that Ryan kid or Nicki and Vlad and made them stars, yeah they deserve credit because I’ve watched a shyt ton of that type of content and they are clearly better than everyone else in that lane. There is another one, a white guy and his son who play video games together, they killing it. People don’t just gravitate to the same media due to the luck of the draw. There is something pulling all these people.

Also everything you said about mental health and personal issues applies to actors and singers as well, they just weren’t sharing that info with you. Hello TMZ.

As far as living vicariously through public figures, that’s something new? People been doing that with famous people since the dawn of media. People magazine, tabloids, etc….why you think people are knee deep in to that shyt. It’s numerous shows on tv that exist to do nothing other than give updates on famous peoples lives.

Breh I 100% guarantee nobody is watching white dude and his son sleep. So nah, I don't mean streaming in general.

I'm specifically talking about people like Kai, Mizkif, xQc, Asmon, Ninja, Shroud, pokimon, etc....people that have millions of followers, like they're LeBron James or some shyt. The people that are "on" 24/7, 365, streaming every aspect of their life.

That shyt ain't healthy and most of them admit it's not healthy. For their mind or their body.

And no, they aren't talented. Lonely young people gravitate to them because they're omnipresent....you get up in the middle of the night to take a piss and there's Amouranth or whoever sleeping on Twitch so you watch her sleep with 60,000 other people. It's cult-like.

Loneliness is pulling all these people. That, and the need to live through someone else who is more rich, popular, successful, etc.

That's it.

Fred.
