I quit drinking over a year and a half ago, I feel so much better. I don't judge anyone that does because I used to drink heavy myself but my after seeing so many family members in my age range die, I had to make a change.
It also has a terrible effect on you the next day. I'm not talking hangovers either.

There's no springing out the bed at 7:00 full of energy and ready to take on a new day.

You're going to be sluggish the entire morning.

Salute to the sober brehs, but I gotta ask.......how hard were some of y'all drinking?

While it's obvious that alcohol isn't good for you, 90% of daily life technically isn't. I think the occasional recreational drink is fine. Just can't be the bottle a weekend, or six pack a night type.

Breh, i would drink a fifth/liter of tequila plus a six pack of coronas in one night. I drank every weekend for more than 10 years. I was a animal with alcohol once i was done witj work for the week

I just became one year sober 3 days ago. I plan on drinking now but on vacation/birthday..special occasions. I enjoy a nice whiskey and cigar etc. I just had to kill that every weekend habit

As I get older the more I realize life is better lived sober, alcohol is a poison.

I say this until I go out on Friday or Saturday. I feel good all week and workout and eat healthy but will get bored when I can finally get a break from work and turn up, then feel like shyt all Sunday cause once I start I don't stop, I told myself I will just take 4 shots and chill last friday but drank the whole fifth of Hennessy :snoop:

I need some new hobbies

This post is right on time for me. I've been "taking a break" from drinking since early this month, and:

1. I don't miss alcohol at all. I get intense sugar cravings sometimes, but that's it.
2. My body and mind obviously feel way better.
3. I broke my long ass plateau I was on with my weight loss.

I don't think I want to go back. I drank A LOT in my early adult life, so it doesn't really do much for me now, anyway.

All this is true for me then the weekend hits and I'm like, "a little bit won't hurt" then wake up the next day with a massive hangover breaking my cycle. I hate it here.

:damn:
