actually its so that the winner gets huge heat because they beat a fan favorite. Orton was hated after the HHH bryan shyt.
And within 6 weeks his heat and credibility were nuked by trips overshadowing him and Bryan beating him and the decision being reversed and big show knocking him and Bryan out. By October he had no heat at all and the crowd was shytting on his matches Brock vs Goldberg style if Bryan wasn't challenging him.

Daniel Bryan saved Cripple H's career..fans $hitted on him after the Summerslam Brock match in Hollywood...Punk spat in his face by telling he wasn't the main event and if he wasn't gonna wrestle in the top spot, he would rather quit. So he turned on Bryan and the crowd gave a damn about him and Stephanie again. She was getting no sold big time when she returned earlier in 2013 trying to be "face".

I like Sheamus, especially as the heel is now, tired as of these heels that are so worried about trying to look cool and get smark pops

Never the ringwork though :jawalrus:

I like Sheam, even though he has no character or direction. I juat hate that all of this was so damn predictable. OP is right about Rollins though. He was change the channel status if he wasn't in a PPV match. He got the benefit of the doubt way more than others have.

A better question may be when is the last time a main eventer had good booking?

really it's just been brock and only brock. when brock was the champion, you really felt like he was the champion. when someone was challenging for that belt, you really felt like they were competing for the top spot against the best in the world.

seth rollins, and now most likely sheamus, are just transitional champions.

All I've heard about Sheamus is that he's a jobber, irrelevant, no direction, etc etc. But not in a booking sense, almost like it's. .....real.

Meanwhile with Seth Rollins who was pretty much heat less is whole reign is protected by the bad booking excuse. Boring, rambling and botched promos. Bad booking. Jobbing. Bad booking. Heatless. Bad booking. Looking weak. Bad booking. Terrible feuds. Bad booking.

You give Seth Rollins so many passes for being a flop but Sheamus has the same booking and you shyt on him before his reign even starts. It's like you all forget this is a predetermined sport when it's convenient.

I know you all going to say I'm trolling or being contraian like you all always do when I point out inconsistency and hypocrisy but such is life. Sheamus is champ now and every failing I'm going to chalk up to bad booking. What's good for Rollins is better for Sheamus. :yeshrug:

Seth Rollins before cashing in MITB had the strongest booking we've ever seen for a MITB holder. Sheamus got the worst booking.

Sheamus is going to be in the same role as Orton in 2013. A transitional champion who gets overshadowed by the "underdog" (although Reigns is far from one) and is placed in the background.

Always Wrong with another false narrative. Smark on though. :pachaha:

Agreed. It's bad business when you have 6+ month champs feeling like they're just keeping the belt warm for somebody or something bigger. Especially when that somebody or something never comes and the belt just goes to somebody else to continue the cycle.

Brock just exudes MAIN EVENT. Besides him, we may have to go back to the mid 2000s to find someone that benefited from booking without being seen as forced. Punk sticks out to me for his first two months of the Summer of Punk, but that quickly evaporated.

last 3 guys I can imagine were Eddie (2004), Benoit (2004), and Batista (2005). Maybe Rey before they did all they could to bury him and ensure he would not draw (2006)

Seth was a flop as champion though. And we always heard the bad booking excuse. At least you admit Sheamus had terrible booking, and you being one of the few, makes me right. Now go make some gifs.

-Seth was a horrible champ, dude was boring as fukk everytime he was with The Authority, the couple of weeks HHH and Steph took the night off he showed glimpses of being at least competent. But his reign made me stop caring after a long ass time.

-Sheamus has been booked like shyt since he lost the WHC in 2012. He's just another midcard guy who suffers from their even steven, short term booking. He's very good in the ring but he's boring as fukk as a character, always has been to be honest.

-Bad booking is not a fukking excuse, it's a key reason why the product is so shytty and why most of the roster can't be perceived as a real main eventer.

Nope. They been mostly booking the MITB winner like garbage since Punk won it. There has been a lot of faces who had the briefcase and were booked just as bad as Swagger or Sheamus and the reason wasn't because they wanted to get heat.

Seth Rollins gets passes from fans because he's a better and more talented wrestler than Sheamus. Simple really.

They were both booked badly as Champions, but as bad as Seth's reign was, I enjoy a lot of his matches and hardcore fans actually give a fukk about him - whereas Sheamus is solid but boring in the ring and on the mic so nobody is as invested in him outside of people who liked him back when he was a heel in 2010.

I thought Rollins was pretty good as champ :yeshrug:

I like sheamus, but as a baby face, which I'm definitely in the minority. Unless he goes Brock mode and squashes the roster, I'm not interested in him as a heel. He also does those 18 minute false finish matches that are hard to watch.
