lol breh... there's no bad booking "excuse". It wasn't an excuse for Punk, DBry, Rollins, or anyone else.
It's a bad booking REALITY.
And Sheamus does not get the benefit of the doubt from most people here because he's been pushed and he's always been boring as shyt. I'm sure he's a nice guy and there's a lot of things he does well but he is fukkin boring.
All that being said... he might not be a bad champion in this neckbeard era where the smarks will work themselves into a shoot and Sheamus will get actual heat for being champion when the internet doesn't think he should be.

All I've heard about Sheamus is that he's a jobber, irrelevant, no direction, etc etc. But not in a booking sense, almost like it's. .....real.
