Their offense traditionally revolves around Russ' ability to not get sacked for all of their deep shots by scramble drills to keep the defense honest. If the defense isn't scared of the deep shots they can sit on all of those shorter routes and pack the running lanes. Earlier in the season they pushed the ball down the field by design, which surprised the fukk out of everyone, but Pete literally neutered that style of offense when Russ had two "bad" games.

The problem is that Pete needs an incredible defense to keep employing this conservative ass offensive style and the defense is not very good at all. He's not adapting. He should've seen from the first drive like I did that their defense was going to be toast and told the OC/Russ to go be aggressive. I'm a fan of Russ so it's nuts to have that type of talent at QB and purposely hold him back while at the same time relying on him to be magical to be effective.

yeah they don’t have the D to play conservatively.

Theyre D was historically bad the first half of the year it’s faced bad offenses lately which is why it looks slightly better but it’s still far from a good D but Pete probably got fooled into thinking he could ride his D to wins
