Most people who watch anime aren't in those clubs and aren't ugly. From the outside looking in those are the only people that represent anime watchers to you because they make it part of life. Its like Star Wars or Lord of the Rings, some nerds and lames gravitate towards fantasy to escape life but take it to another level of obsession but the majority of Star Wars/Lotr fans aren't walking around in storm trooper helmets or dressed like Gandalf. Its just entertainment and if you haven't watched any anime since dbz how can you say its kids stuff? Its about great story telling, the medium is not important. Its like saying the Simpsons is for kids because its a cartoon when its directed at adults.

still chasing the dream breh, I work part time clerical i work on my own shyt in my spare time. Along the way I've met some cool people who are in the business like the whole black dynamite animation team, Sanford Greene, Ron Wimberly, and Damion Scott to name a few. I need to put together a dope ass portfolio but its kind of intimidating when you see what your up against, still my whole ambition is to do what i love and get paid for it.
You can say the same thing about anything that's not mainstream music, sports, video games.
Niche shyt like anime will bring out different types of people like that.
But honestly you dudes worry too much about what other people are doing and think that I don't even know how you can enjoy anything outside of your little box in the first place.

I'd say 85% of anime fans are weird in general. There's plenty of people who indulge in it with an active social and sex life, and have all their shyt together. But those people aren't the types to talk about it out of the blue, it's usually if the conversation comes up and they feel comfortable talking about it. Nobody wants to be that dude where your co-worker, someone from your not-nerdy squad, or even worse worse your DATE/girl you bring to the spot brings up Pokemon, and you're going on a 10 minute rant about battle strategies and why you think Ash's mom threw the p*ssy to Professor Oak.

This stereotype is one I can vouch for... They even heavily encourage at cons for folks to shower. I mean, how hard is it to step in the shower for 10-15 minutes and clean your whole body? And then step out, dry yourself off and then put on some deodorant on? Even worse is if it's in the summer, they got cosplays on and they're sweating like a motherfukker. That shyt is not wavy.

I believe it. I used to do some volunteer work for an anime convention back 4-6 years ago. There were so many people who just fukkin stank. It's that musty ass smell too, and it's ALWAYS that smell. It made me go
because it was like it never occurred to them that they smell. Like they can't smell the stench. Some of them are the same people even sleep in the showing rooms, at 4AM in the fukking morning.
It's never the attractive women who are smelling like that either.
It's always the
