No, Hope Solo Is Not "Like" Ray Rice

Do you think the Hope Solo situation should be perceived the same way as the NFL situations?

  • Yes, domestic violence is domestic violence. It should all be viewed as equally appalling.

  • No, the present and historical contexts of the issues justifies the different public responses.

  • No, but I still think the response to Ray Rice and AD has been overblown.

Has anybody pointed out that Hope Solo has previously been arrested for fighting her boyfriend/husband? It's clear that she has violent tendencies so she should be dealt with accordingly but we all know why she won't.

When it comes to domestic violence, people debate this topic too damn emotionally. Are we saying that women beat up men as much as men beat up women? No. Are we saying that the punishments should be equal for ANY case of domestic violence? Yes.

It's not that's difficult to understand.

Western women and their entitlement... and of course no repercussions to their wrong doings.. :pacspit:

If you hit her back = jail
If she hits you = ahhh you got hit by a girl??? ahh man shes just a girl.
If she cheats = she gets half
If you cheat = she gets more...

Thank the beta simps of America for this culture. The will say or do anything to get a piece of p*ssy they'll never get

Exactly. Women are 'equals' in this society, so they need to face equal repercussions. Ray Rice got roasted and faced loss of opportunities as he should have, as did Chris Brown, as did Chad Ocho Cinco. Yet solange wilds out in an elevator and yet there is no repercussions or cries for her to be punished. Hope Solo has her second violent incident and yet Nike keeps her on contract. What society is essentially saying is that it's ok to hit men... you just need to defend violence against women. Being weaker doesn't give you the right to escape repercussions for violence you decide to initiate.

140 pound guys can still do damage to a woman (its not the size of the dog in the fight, and so on). But yes Ray Rice would have gotten off if he just pulled her hair and slapped her a couple times on the elevator. If she wasn't knocked unconscious and dragged off the elevator then nobody would ever know. It wouldn't make him a better husband but he wouldve avoided arrest and he would probably still have a job.

Any more questions I can answer?

Women can't do damage to men? there is no way ray rice would have a job. Stephen Smith got suspended for not immediately taking a woman's side in public in regards to 'domestic violence.'

Max Kellerman got suspended for this:
Kellerman explained that the incident in question happened years ago while the couple was at a college party and both had too much to drink. Kellerman said that while he was trying to get things under control, his girlfriend slapped him, and he slapped her back.

He got suspended for telling a story about what happened 20 years ago. What you're essentially telling me is violence by women against men is ok because its nearly impossible for women to do enough damage to hurt a man... in essence you're saying domestic violence is fine as long as you don't leave lasting marks and as long as you have a vagina... and yet I'm supposed to believe in these rallying cries for 'equality' and how women are just as capable as a man in any endeavor?

Exactly on emotional people can't understand that esp from a public outrage standpoint.

No, but I grew up hearing my neighbor beating his wife's ass for years until she left him. I heard of my man Stanley older brother killing his girl before shooting himself two years ago. I heard my wife's grandmother was killed in a murder suicide back in the 1970s. I heard my uncle beat his wife's ass that she had to leave Brooklyn and run to south Jersey away from him. I heard my mom has to get surgery on her lip after 30+ years when my pops put the mitts to her when I was in her womb.

Don't make this shyt a contest. Men own this shyt

What about Chicago?

I'm not sure I agree breh. People were mad at Ray but there was no video so it was just another case. The video comes, and like you said it reached astronomical levels. There was plenty of people defending AP. Ray rice, there was a fringe. And people like the Author of the article are trying to make that bigger then it was to get hits.

I know no one wants to admit this, but AP was getting a lot of defenders because of how disrespectful and rude kids are today.
The author wasn't making anything bigger. I'm assuming you guys don't follow news articles very often. An ESPN writer was one of the people who inspired the whole "Hope Solo" should be suspended too. A FEMALE at that. Then when she saw all these other publications going ham with saying there's a double standard and people on social media claiming the responses were unfairr and using her as a catalyst--she, Coates and that one writer at Salon among others responded. You guys are just so damn biased that you refuse to see what's in front of your face.

@Emperor_ReinScarf 's comparisons don't even make sense. He could not have read the article. All bad is not created equal. All differing standards are not unjustified. If you're sitting here looking at me acting like a shop owner who shoots an unarmed black kid and a shop owner who shoots an unarmed white kid should illicit the same outrage you've lost your mind. Both should be punished--as everyone has said, but one obviously has more baggage. How in the world are we holding the gravity of men leaving women and vice versa's double standard the same as actions reflective of a major societal problem... That's like saying black people getting mad over Trayvon are ignoring other double standards like Eminem getting called "the white boy" versus a black dude being called "the black boy" by country artists.

@Walt @NYC Rebel I can't fam...look at this poll :snoop:.

I fukked with Ta-Nehisi when he wrote his piece of reparations, but now he's jumping the shark. We don't classify crime based on the "tradition" within which that crime exists. We classify it based on the intent and mindset of the attacker. The law refers to his as mens rea. That's why "lynching" exists as a separate wrong from just beating someone up. There's no difference in motivation between what Rice did and what Solo did. Simple as that.

I'm saying a couple of idiots (like the ESPN writer) are having their words blown up. The espn author was wrong.

Also Ray Rice was a (perceived) choir boy until this and Hope Solo has multiple priors, so why was she even allowed back in the first place, other then the fact she's popular.

Double standard? Should we open mens shelters for domestic abuse? Stop playing pretend that we should walk around in physical fear of women. Where do you live at where this happens?

Women should face the same penalties as men for assault
