Exactly, I have Amex, and they are always asking me to go for the platinum.

I have the chase sapphire preferred and I hate that I have to pay a $95 annual fee.

As far as OP, showing off platinum credit cards is some 2003 bullshyt.

you don't even borrow money with the amex plat. it's a charge card that really functions more as a travel membership. Amex Plat concierge has really helped me out in some jams when I've been out the country or haven't my dinner reservations for my girl / mom on holidays. Totally worth the annual fee, and you get a $200 airline credit and $200 in uber credits too. Plus, if you ever break, lose or get robbed of a purchase you made with your platinum card, Amex will reimburse you the money with minimal effort.
