What is left to gain by playing him anymore this season?

Stupid to risk a franchise player on maybe 3 or 4 more wins but its Washington so he'll probably be back out there

I don’t think he should see the field again. He’s escaped a few nasty injuries and his play style doesn’t say to me “I’m going to dial it back a bit”

Could easily go out there and actually hurt himself.

Glad he isn’t injured long term. Season is awash, focus on draft position. You don’t tank in the NFL, but I would let Mariota start the rest of the way, whether JD healthy or not:manny:

He may need to add some bulk in the offseason as well

He is a second year QB. He needs the game reps. He should play for his continued development.

You’re not wrong either :manny:

At the end of the day risk management will have to make the final call. At this point all things considered though, I’m leaning towards just shutting him down
This team ain’t good, so they will be bad anyway. No need to tank.

Though I'm a Cowboy for life I would like to see this cat get a chance to have a long and full career. So if they are out of the playoffs race at the point that he can return then no need in bringing him back this season.

Yesterday I was thinking there's no point in him playing in November through the first week of December and now today I'm thinking...you're right, why bring him back at all?

Washington missed the mark this year with a collection of older free agents who haven't made the team better. Luckily for them they still have a lot of cap space next year. Not a lot of draft capital though, and this draft is supposed to be bad at offensive tackle.
