Yeah i always said, Wade skated by on talent and his athletic nature. He never really refined his skills as he got older.

Wade never developed a consistent outside shot, never trained or took care of his body. Never reached his full potential.

It's one of the reasons lebron bounced, wade was letting lebron carry the load while he slacked, and my sources indicated that pissed lebron off even more. Wade was missing games and lebron found out just minutes before tip. Wade became fat and lazy.
Yet this alleged "lazy man" is the same guy they want on Cleveland with LeBron?

:mjlol:

It's best if Wade came home. No one respects him outside of Miami it seems.

That's Wade, alright :russ:
Pat Riley said it himself: " He (Wade) is probably one of the best onball defenders to ever play but he only plays like it when there is money, a [NBA] championship or [Olympic] medal on the line".

Or something to that effect.

That was in response to the Olympic commentators (I think Bob Costas) talking about "Wade is defending at an elite level again...Wait til Pat Riley sees this..." when Wade was shutting down people in 2008 Olympics after his surgery .

That is why Wade and Riley had been at odds since. The way you motivate Wade is to take shots at him which he hates but gets a rise out of him. Those "...they quit! They fukkin' quit!" comments Riley made in that hallway in front of the camera were partly about him that year before.

Remember when Wade came into the league Riley sold him to Heat fans as, and I quote " a more athletic version of Gary Payton" meaning he was a great Point Guard and could shutdown opposing PGs. (Yes Wade was drafted to play PG).

Many Heat fans didn't know mush about him and wanted TJ Ford or Chris Kaman (since we had just lost Zo to the illness)

It's only by midway through his rookie season that fans realized he could be a beast on offense scoring the ball.
I forgot about those comments...

:lupe:

When was the "they f'n quit" comment?

Year after the championship with Shaq (I think). It was the year when Wade sat out the rest of the season. It was after a regular season loss too.

Riley likes to push players to play hard and even play hurt. Especially young players. Problem is that's one thing Wade doesn't do, period. He'll play hard but under no circumstances will he play hurt unless, of course, there is a ring or a new contract on the line.

Everyone quit the year after the championship, except Zo and Haslem. Dudes came to training camp fat and hungover from partying all summer and they were already old veterans so they couldn't just wing it.

Most inspired ive seen Wade play are in the 06 Finals, 08 Olympics and the following NBA season, 2011 Finals and 2016 playoffs

"Man I don't know how we won the title. This team fukking partied every night"

-Shaq

Pretty sure Pat traded walker that season specifically because he got fat.

Playoff meetings with Boston always seemed to bring out the best in Wade too as long as he was healthy. That and-1 euro step on Garnett in 2011 and the block from behind where he snatched the ball away from pierce in 2012 :wow:

:mjlol: Kobe started the whole "argue at the ref instead of getting back on defense" nonsense years before Wade was doing that.
Kobe did not start that, cut the lies. Star players were doing that before Kobe was thought about.

He is the second best SG of his time behind Kobe, and certainly in his class
Its not good enough. Wades injuries lack of focus and complacency cost him 3 more titles

2005 - got injured against pistons
2011 - lebron robbed him
2014 - injuries not taking care of his body

Most inspired was 2009-2010 after the surgery. Some still argue that he should have been the MVP that year. I think that's the year he led the league in scoring if I'm not mistaken.

As far as the year he quit it was the year after the year after the Championship. That's when Riley said that. My bad

Not that Wade went there for that purpose (it was a cash grab) but these instances where star athletes start their careers for one team then go back home to play for their hometown teams never seem to work/end well.

At least I don't remember any that did:manny:

smh at nikkaz in chicago thinking dwade was not gon play them on some this my city shyt.
he came home to purposefully son nikkaz.
this was to be expected.
plus, he trying to make it a conflict of interest after the payday so he never has to feel obligated to resign back with the "CHARACTER ORGANIZATION = RACIST"

fukk reinsdork, dude always gets fleeced by the superstar at the end of their shelf life trying to play bait and switch quality games with the chicago fanbase.
he did it in baseball with bo and griffey in just my time, and does it in basketball, too.

Thats what ultimately kept Wade from getting to the MJ/Kobe class, he got by on his talent alone but he never had the same drive with his work ethic those guys had. Even in his younger days he was cutting corners in practice, following the lead of Shaq's lazy ass.

not exactly, true all the way.
riley tried to come in on a coup and ratchet up the intensity past a level that was even sustainable.
so, he could appear as having purged the entire matrix of stan van to claim winning all on his own.
after stan van ramped the team and he pulled a coup of the team via being demonstrative to van gundy using the team personnel and his own meddling.

of which riley knows how to create a coup.
simply because he did the same thing as a color guy on commentary.
to get the job in LA as coach, too.
