Malice was always the introspective one. He was the one who brought some soul into the music. Push brought the flows and the more exciting metaphors but Malice brought the depth.

You could tell he was the one who pushed the religious imagery. You could tell he was a good man doing demonic things in the music.

Anything that keep mama from crying, visiting
You from behind that glass, while you await sentencing

But the judge is saying "Life" like it ain't someone's life

"But more often than not I find myself confused
Cruising in that drop, and still I feel
As if I'm nothing more than a hamster in a wheel"

"I'm sorry Grandmama for mistakes I have made
When I aired family business, how you put me in my place
"

"If I misled any kid that's fatherless
That burden's on my soul as long I exist
"

It shames me to no end
To feed poison to those who could very well be my kin

You never get any remorse from Pusha. While I like his solo work it lacks heart and depth. Malice has always had some deep shyt to him. Not surprised he's fully accepted God.

Pusha toned it down a lot but after those indictments came down and his name wasn't on it, he went back to coke rapping...

That whole thing was hella strange to me...two dudes who rap about coke, claiming that the coke raps are just metaphors for other things, when in fact it is just rapping about coke, end of having a manager who was really selling keys, and when them indictments come down both of them are like "we had no idea what was going on"

Push is a decent rapper, but I can't take him seriously as a man...you can't be out here rapping about all the drugs you sold then when a nikka in your circle is found to really be doing that you get shook and go into hiding

Watchu expect him 2 do? Jus "aaw yea mayne i knew boss was sellin drugs waaay bac when. . im talkin waaay bac.. tyrone 105th... sunny day sting....slicc bacc.. cadillac.. diamond in tha bac.. had all tha bytches.. ugly muafucca..niccname Mandingo? Yea yea yea... that was boss right hand man"
Nicca woulda went from Pusha T 2 Pusha Dime

I dunno man, I think Push is making enough clean money, maybe he snitched, or maybe he wasn't involved in shyt. My guess is neither was involved but I'm sure they were both witness and were essentially accesories since they both acted as Tony's drug front.

Also you gotta remember Mal has a family. He's got a wife, kids, Push is still single and has no known kids or anything like that. He has a lot less to lose, and I don't think that whole ordeal shook him as much as it did Mal who has a lot more to lose. He might genuinely be really religious and shaken though so that might explain why he just refuses to do that music again.

"This way after the Ruger shoots through a few clipse
You can lay in your casket just as you is
We appreciate the target practices
We'll be sure to send flower baskets kid..."

If only Andre 3000 could have been this honest almost a decade ago. I hate to see a great rap duo die off but life happens.
