At the end of the day, some people's last name means more than others based off what their family has accomplished in past generations and because of that some cherish it.

I'm pretty sure my last name means more than some of yours and vice versa could be said...

It's not uncommon for a woman to keep her last name with the husband's name attached with a hyphen.
