There are literally hundreds of books on my reading list that are not offered by the local library. Although libraries often participate in the interlibrary loan system, often the shipping costs to receive the book is past to the individual.
A local Library offers much more than just books.
They offer older materials that are harder to get on the internet.
Historical archives
Community service events
Free wifi
Tutoring
Printing, scanning, copying, and fax.
Job and resumes resources
Language help
Outreach
Local Records
Access to audio and video equipment
Free Software programs
So much more.
I'm not opposed to the website. I will be visiting But library's and book patrons help Authors and especially black authors with financial support.
