No more WWE onDemand starting Feburary, launching WWE Network

WWE is getting rid of their onDemand channel in feb and hoping they can launch WWE network by March. The working idea is that WrestleMania (and every other WWE PPV) will be on this channel. And the subscription for this channel will be anywhere from 10-15 dollars a month. So that means if you subscribe to the Network, you get all the PPVs for "free" (Technically not free since you're paying for the network, but you get the idea)

PW Insider posted this statement from WWE, this was it

Beginning February 2014, WWE will no longer offer WWE Classics On Demand, our subscription video-on demand content delivered through cable television providers, as we are focusing our resources on other initiatives. As communicated on our recent earnings call, we continue to aggressively pursue launching a WWE Network; however, no launch date has been set.”

this is a smart business move tho, guaranteed money every month. Only thing is they won't be able to gauge buyrates anymore unless they will still sale PPVs ala carte but at a higher price

15 bucks a month for something I'm going to watch a lot doesn't sound like a reach to me. I watch HBO on Sundays...when a show I dig happens to be in-season.

If you actually think about this it's not crazy. I am accustomed to ordering at least two PPV's a year (was the big four until three years ago) with those being Wrestlemania and Royal Rumble (occasionally SummerSlam) and I believe that most wrestling fans pay for at least Wrestlemania ($60 price tag add any other one and that price is $100 a month. 15x12=180 and WWE would be smart enough to give you hella incentive to pay this. Take the DVD releases and show them the Friday before release, Ondemand goes away but with the subscription you get it (just like HBO), nikkaz already kickin out $8 a month for Ondemand which is ENTIRELY OLD FOOTAGE, why isn't this worth $15 a month? If they do this correctly it could be very good.

Breh I get HBO but it's for free in my package. I watch HBO on like Sundays, but not enough for me to pay $15 on a monthly basis, I just don't watch that much TV.

If they have like a ton of 1st run programming, and like their DVDs on there, and tons of old nitros/raws/ppvs, its worth it.

If it's like on demand, which is like like 10 hours of shyt a month, then hell no.

This is what was originally being reported and if they don't include it a $10 tag would be perfect, but a $15 still wouldn't be out of the question, if they gave those DVD's out to their subscribers to view early that would be a crazy perk. There are some other things I'd add in there also but that right there would possibly be the biggest perk they could give out right now that wouldn't cost them a dime.
