The ps6 would sell at the same or a worse rate than the ps5 pro and worse than the $600 ps3 at that price. The only way Sony sells at that price is them deciding to appeal to the niche crowd next gen, which probably won't occur since that's never been their strategy. The ps5 with the disc drive is $550 vs. $600 because Sony are afraid to sell a $600 base ps5. That's why when the ps6 releases will depend on when the tariffs are over, the economy, and the cost of production. Sony won't sell a ps6 at a price that won't sell well and will wait until the ps6 can be sold at a reasonable price. November 2027 is the rumored release time and will probably delayed to November 2028 or beyond because of what's occurring right now. According to rumors, the ps6 will be cheaper to produce than the ps5. The price will be the same as the 2 versions of the ps5 depending on the way the ps5 sells at those prices. With a sales rate that is too slow, the ps6 will be cheaper than those prices and Sony will cut the price of the ps5,
Again I will say…let’s be honest if PS6 dropped tomorrow for $700 WE…us in this thread right now would be trying to get one. I’m not talking about business strategies etc. I’m talking about us discussing this right now on this forum lol.

Not sure about that. Some will buy the ps6 at $700. The rest will wait until the price drops or buy one used or buy or continue to play the ps5 or ps5 pro which will be exacerbated by some of the Sony 1st party games being cross gen and almost all of the cross platform games, 2nd party exclusives, and third party exclusives being cross gen throughout next gen.

Still expecting a ps6 release in November 2028 despite the tariffs. There is a rumor that says the ps6 is cheaper to produce than the ps5, so I expect ps5 price cuts and the ps5 pro being discontinued by November 2028 with the ps6 being $500 without a disc drive and $550 with a disc drive at worst. Sony could have raised the ps5 price to $600, but they are afraid after what happened with the $600 ps3. The $500 discless ps6 will probably be prioritized.

I was trying to be quick with my response. My point was that the difference between the PS4 and PS5 wasn't large enough from my experience. So, I'm not expecting the jump to the next generation gaming system to be large enough by 2029 to create a large enough demand and I don't think I'm alone in my thinking (but you never know).
Man they had the PS3 out for so long and they didn't get to maximize it's performance damn near till the end. Developers need to optimize and generally make better products. The days of massive graphic leaps are done. I'd rather see better optimization

Considering what PC graphics can look like, we can still have massive graphic leaps. We got another 4 generations minimum before graphics stall out, and even that's heavily underestimating technology 15 years from now.

Good. I don't even have a PS5 yet damn
Yeah. If you don't have a PS5 by now and you're blaming it on price I don't know. Like someone else said it's been 5 years now. If it takes you that long to scrape up $500. You might have bigger issues you need to focus on.

Ps5 released 5 years ago and you still don't have one? The Digital was only $400.

If you save $15/month now you can get a PS6 on release day. Start saving

It's not about price. Every game I currently play already has a PS4 version that has matchmaking with PS5 people as well as Crossplay. Street Fighter 6, Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3, Modern Warfare 3...

No need for me to get a PS5 right now. Maybe if I decide to get Tekken 8

Remember when a $599 console was seen as outrageous? Now we’re all hoping that $599 price is the bare minimum.:wow:
