I'll never forget coming home winter break from college in 1998. I'm at my grandmothers house and my male cousin who is a year younger was looking thru some of my books. He saw The Prince by Machiavelli and immediately went crazy. He begged to borrow it, not for political reasons but because of 2Pac. That in itself will always be one of the postives I will give to Pac....Dude had a lot of cats wanting to atleast familiarize themselves with topics that were broader then street sh*t. With all the propaganda in USA, I'm sure cats wanted to know why Pac chose notorious people like Saddam EDI and Khadafi as names for his crew. I know Pac had cats looking these people up. But when it comes to looking things up...No rapper has ever had me doing a dictionary/encyclopedia search like Canibus. These are a few names and terms that Canibus introduced me to:

If Im reading a book and I dont know a word..I go to a dictionary. If I'm watching a show and they name drop someone I never heard of, I google.

I just gave 2 examples of rappers(2pac and Canibus) who have name dropped things that motivated research.
