How is he, in any way, being portrayed as an underdog?

They're playing on his family ties and insecurities. Having him having to prove himself to the fans and to his family that he's worth the WM spot. He touched on that exactly last week during the sit down.

Are the odds stacked against him? Yeah. But that doesn't make him an underdog.
