when you snitch... you involve the "authorities"
we know that's a serious risk in 2017: you could call the police because your local ock shop is getting robbed, Giuliani's finest show up, survey the scene, shoot the cashier and send the janitor to Gitmo
so if you're going to take that route.. it needs to be worth something. a non violent "victimless" crime like selling drugs or a bank or chain retail store getting robbed... that's not something I would dp
I agree there's not a standard to hold civilians to because they didnt sign up to be in the "game", but I also believe that until police are willing to cross the blue line there is no imperative as a "good citizen" to make their jobs easier by informing on other non-police officers
it can be a complex issue and like all important things in life there's no real rule, only guidelines and best practices
