Driven cross country a few times. Yes, the remotes areas in the west are the best. People understand driving etiquette. Those open roads are a lot of fun and actually safe for drivers

There isn't a need for an Autobahn when the vast majority of drivers will do whatever speed they want, regardless of the set limit, namely on the highway and suburban roads.

Even in the city, drivers in the usual brands and models will do 45 in a 30.

Licenses are given out too easy. There’s too many people on the road that cannot drive. There’s no driving discipline, state troopers rarely pull over left lane campers and just a general me me attitude that permeates the driving culture that would make this a suicide mission.

in maryland / DC i hardly ever see drivers who actually can drive.

I came here to post this. American drivers don't obey the rules well enough to have an autobahn. Some dumbass would be on their cellphone driving 20mph below the speed limit in the passing lane for 100 miles, get rear ended and the whole thing would get cancelled.

i didn‘t watch the video but Germany is not as wide open as people may think. There are plenty of areas of the autobahn that has speed limits.

Also, getting a license over there is fukking expensive. Somewhere around 2500-3000 euros so if they get their license taken away they paying a grip to get it back.

Brehs y'all misinformed. It's only certain stretches of the highway that have no speed limits. They're also well maintained and the German people are very disciplined with following the rules and avoiding getting in their feelings.
