Because good times was ass cheeks when they added Keith to the cast.
He came towards the end of the show. I think that he was a former football player that blew out his knee or something like that.
This gif was after he slapped Thelma.
Anyway he got married to Thelma and moved up into the projects. I never knew why the show didn't allow him to get a job and move Thelma out of the projects, but then again it was a show written by White people about Black people and that was part of the racism on the show that John Amos talked about.
