I'm almost certain that she was given resources and support for the first few years of her release.

Article mentioned she had a mentor and she did motivational speeches.

On one hand I'm thinking "What else are they supposed to do for her?" They got her out and partnered her with some people who seemingly had her best interest at heart.

On the other hand I just keep thinking how this girl has been institutionalized since she was picked up off the streets. All she's ever known is the streets.

Well... She probably didn't have a choice.... Kim K may have helped get her out, but the real energy/sacrifice is in making sure she has resources and opportunities to prevent her from going back in.... They may have provided her with that, but it hasn't been stated as far as I can tell

There were the circumstances that kids in trouble too often had: Addicted parents. Bouts of homelessness. Foster care while Alexis’s mother was incarcerated. Allegations of sexual abuse by her stepfather. Thirteen schools in 10 years.

But then, there were the sexual assaults by a 21-year-old that started when Alexis was 10. At 12, she was impregnated by a 16-year-old, who was convicted of statutory rape. She lost the baby, a boy she’d named Jaly’near, at 4½ months. After his death, Alexis tried to kill herself by drinking bleach.

I tried not to do too much research on this because the media has a way of undercutting the fact that this little girl was thrown to the wolves early, and pushing the narrative that this could be in some way this girls fault and she deserves some of the blame, but Jesus Christ, 10 years old, and that’s just what’s provable. Pregnant at 12? THIS WORLD IS A fukkING NIGHTMARE! There are so many people, including the judge and DA, that deserve unspeakable things upon them before they even try to raise their voice to this girl. Arrested development is a real thing, and to think that they would ever convict this kid, throw the whole fukking thing away, this is a glaring look inside the Justice system, and how it’s designed.

She was dating a 41 year old male who moved in a day before the arrest and the drugs and guns were found in boxes.

She spent years in prison and worked hard enough to get her own place just to have a bum move in and send her back to prison.
